Once again I’m happy beyond measure with the support and service at Friendly Car Care. There is great service and then there is excellent service. That’s what you get from Greg, Mike and the rest of the staff and that is the reason I will go no where else.

I've been meaning to write this review for 18 months! I took my 2003 Honda CRV to Friendly Car Care for a pre-purchase inspection because they were located close to the dealership and had good reviews. Having just moved to Austin from the UK (where I went to the same excellent mechanic for ten years), I was quite nervous about having to deal with someone new. These guys were fantastic. I dealt with Greg mostly and really appreciated his honesty, thoroughness and patience. Greg and the mechanic found that my car had clearly been in an unreported accident recently and he also found a number of issues that needed to be dealt with - such as worn tires and worn rear struts - along with some more minor problems. The CRV had 194K miles on it and was for sale at $4K. Greg knew I was also considering a newer model hatchback with only 97K miles on it and counselled me to consider that car. My heart was pretty set on the CRV, however, and I asked Greg if he felt like there was anything really wrong with the car. He responded that it seemed like it was okay but that it was his job to be exceedingly cautious and to point out all of the potential issues. I really appreciated this frankness and even though I did decide to buy the car in the end, due to the itemised appraisal Friendly provided me with, the dealership replaced all four tires and the struts at no extra cost. I've had the car 18 months now and added 10K miles and she's still running well. I've had one expensive issue in that time (catalytic converters) but I know this kind of thing will always arise with old cars. I found the pre-inspection and advice Friendly provided to be super helpful and ultimately it saved me money because of the improvements I was able to negotiate. I haven't been back because I lived East and now South but if I lived in North Austin I would only go to Friendly Car Care. I probably still will go to them if I need non-emergency work. I've told loads of people about them - the best advertisement is just to do good work because people will always remember it and tell their friends. Thanks Greg! Sorry this review took so long.
